Equestrian Facility Design

Equine Facility Design is a professional equestrian architecture firm specializing in planning, design, and project management for sites and structures used by the horse community.

Our goal is to translate your vision of a creative, beautiful and exciting environment for horses and people into reality. We do this by carefully listening to your dreams and finding ways to achieve them in harmony with the natural features of your location and within the guidelines of responsible planning.

  • Linda L. Royer is a designer and one of two partners at Equine Facility Design. She graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture Degree from the University of Oregon and is a licensed Landscape Architect. In thirty five years of professional practice in design firms in the Pacific Northwest, she has designed and managed numerous large commercial, recreational, institutional, public, and residential projects. In 1994 she established the office of Linda Royer, Landscape Architecture and Planning, and Equine Facility Design to combine her lifelong experience in riding, owning, and breeding horses with her professional training in design.
  • Matthew E. Johnson, Architect, is the other partner at Equine Facility Design. He graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture Degree from Syracuse University, and with seventeen years of professional experience, he has designed and managed many commercial, institutional, healthcare, and residential projects around the United States. He is currently licensed in nine states; shares equestrian facility design responsibilities; and manages many of the firm’s projects from inception through construction.

Our firm provides equestrian planning services on projects nationwide and internationally.
